Job Title: Senior AI Consultant Engineer UST Role Mapping: Senior AI Engineer Location: US Remote Duration: Fulltime salary Job Summary We are seeking a Senior AI Consultant Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-powered agents within the Gates Foundation environment. This role requires a strong blend of AI solution design, stakeholder collaboration, Azure-based AI development, and governance-focused implementation. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and internal IT teams to deliver secure, scalable, and sustainable AI agent solutions.

Key Responsibilities

A. Build and Launch Priority AI Agents

• Translate business and operational needs into clear technical requirements and build plans.
• Design and develop AI agents using Copilot Studio, ChatGPT, Power Platform, and Copilot agents (Teams and SharePoint).
• Implement testing, monitoring, and quality controls to ensure agent reliability and usability.
• Continuously incorporate feedback from GWS stakeholders and business teams.

B. Backlog Prioritization and Development

• Assess remaining AI use cases for feasibility, effort estimation, and sequencing.
• Develop additional AI agents based on capacity, priority, and operational value.

C. Knowledge Transfer, Support & Sustainability

• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering agents, data sources, and knowledge bases.
• Organize documentation and assets in SharePoint, Teams, or approved platforms.
• Provide initial post-deployment support and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Ensure solutions can be owned, supported, and enhanced internally without long-term vendor dependency.

D. Collaboration with Internal IT

• Work closely with internal IT managers and engineers throughout design, build, testing, and deployment phases.
• Complete required IT onboarding and training related to AI policies and environments.
• Follow established security, identity, and data-classification standards.
• Ensure solutions align with IT operational models and approved systems.
• Document all integration points, dependencies, and interoperability considerations.

Required Skills & Qualifications Functional Skills

• Ability to translate operational challenges into structured, AI-enabled workflows.
• Strong experience facilitating requirement-gathering and co-design sessions with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience delivering AI solutions for both small teams and enterprise-scale audiences.
• Proven ability to support adoption of AI agents within complex organizational environments.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience building bots/agents using Copilot Studio, ChatGPT, and pro-code environments such as Azure AI Foundry.
• Strong proficiency in Power Automate and multi-step workflow orchestration.
• Experience integrating structured and unstructured data sources (e.g., SharePoint, third-party applications, knowledge graphs) via connectors and MCPs.
• Understanding of data modeling and/or traditional machine learning concepts.
• Experience building solutions on Azure Governed Cloud environments.

Governance & Security

• Strong understanding of role-based access control (RBAC), permissions, and secure data handling.
• Experience working in environments with strict compliance and data protection requirements.
• Ability to produce clear, IT-ready technical and architectural documentation.
• Demonstrated adherence to compliance, risk management, and global data privacy regulations, including Gates Foundation policies.
