ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR I (SPECIALIST)

Caltrans District 3 is seeking an Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) to join their General Ledger Unit at FI$Cal. In this role, you will support departments using the FI$Cal system by providing Level 2 functional support and collaborating with internal teams to resolve system issues and manage change requests.

Responsibilities

  • Support departments that use the FI$Cal system by serving as a subject matter expert in General Ledger accounting
  • Researching and resolving system issues
  • Managing change requests
  • Supporting end users
  • Providing Level 2 functional support
  • Collaborating with internal teams
  • Working with cross-functional partners in areas like IT and business operations

Skills

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US at all times during their employment with the Department of FISCal
  • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired
  • The incumbent will use tact and interpersonal skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, e.g., stakeholders, customers, management, peers, etc., to facilitate communication to improve the work environment and increase productivity
  • This position requires the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and may require excess hours to be worked
  • The incumbent is expected to perform functions and duties under the guidance of the Department of FISCal's core values
  • The incumbent provides back-up, as necessary, to ensure continuity of departmental activities
  • This position may require the use of a hand-cart to transport documents and/or equipment over 20 pounds
  • Professional/State Accounting

  • General Ledger/Fund Reconciliation Experience
  • FI$Cal System Experience
  • Experience with Month-End and Year-End Close
  • Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and/or Billing Experience
  • Project Costing Experience
  • Analytical Experience
  • Experience Presenting, Training, and/or Facilitating Meetings
  • Written Communication Skills
