GTG Intern - Applied Machine Learning
Grainger is a leading broad line distributor serving millions of customers worldwide. They are seeking an Applied Machine Learning Intern to conduct research, develop machine learning models, and assist in the productionization of ML solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental and innovative research in applied machine learning
- Assist in the productionization of ML models and solutions when required
- Formulate approaches to solve complex problems using well-defined algorithms and data sources
- Perform data exploration to uncover new questions or opportunities within your problem area
- Propose and evaluate the applicability and limitations of data in various contexts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML solutions into existing systems
Skills
- Majors in an area of computing, e.g., Computer Science or Applied Math
- Has a strong foundation in ML, including transformer-based models
- Can code in Python and SQL
- Familiar with version control systems like Git
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program (MS or PhD)
- Expected to graduate in the year following the internship
- Practical experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Computer Vision (CV)
- Has some industry experience
