Pharmacy Intern PRN Lakeland
Corewell Health Lakeland is dedicated to improving health and providing compassionate care. The Pharmacy Intern will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to formulate, prepare, and deliver medications, while participating in patient care activities and maintaining documentation.
Responsibilities
- Interprets physician’s orders checking for correct dose, drug, route, rate and frequency of administration
- Reviews patient profile for allergies, duplication of drugs and drug interactions and accurately enters orders into computer under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Aseptically reconstitutes, filters, prepares and labels parenteral, sterile products, and chemotherapy, and dispenses other medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Maintains documentation and record keeping
- Participates in patient care activities such as drug use monitoring, pharmacokinetics dosing service and nutritional support services
- Provides drug information to physicians, nurses, and other members of the team in collaboration with a pharmacist
- Participates in special projects, such as data entry or research
- Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Enrolled in accredited PharmD program
- LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience
