[Remote] Coordination of Benefits Primacy Specialist

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is committed to transforming healthcare and is seeking a Coordination of Benefits Primacy Specialist. This role involves processing coordination of benefits to ensure members receive full benefits and prevent overpayment of services when covered by multiple sources, including contacting members and other insurance carriers for information verification.
Responsibilities
- Initiates or receives telephone and/or written responses to requests for information
- Skillfully engages with members or other insurance carriers to identify issues and/or questions with Coordination of Benefits
- Verifies, obtains, and documents information in order to correctly process claims and update records
- Determines primacy, student dependent status or appropriate action from information that is gathered
- Updates applicable systems with appropriate information
- Researches history for pended and/or rejected claims and prepares claims to be adjusted, if appropriate
- Works in the various 9700 Coordination of Benefits queues
- Request records if necessary
Skills
- All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered
- Strong communication skills to be able to meet Member and Provider needs
- Research and analytical skills required
- Previous keyboarding experience
- High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S
- Prior insurance or health care experience
- Prior experience interacting with customers
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, OneNote, Excel, etc.)
