Remote Healthcare Compliance Specialist Location: Remote Salary: USD 67,000 per annum Position Overview: We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Healthcare Compliance Specialist to join our team remotely. This role is pivotal in ensuring our healthcare operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations and internal policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of healthcare compliance regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a virtual environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance Management:
  • Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local healthcare regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all company practices and processes comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and other relevant regulations.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures tailored to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Audit and Monitoring:
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
  • Identify potential compliance risks and areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepared and presented detailed audit reports to senior management, outlining findings and recommendations.
  • Training and Education:
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on compliance-related topics, including data privacy, fraud prevention, and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of and understand compliance policies and procedures.
  • Update training materials as necessary to reflect changes in regulations or company policies.
  • Compliance Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, including audits, training sessions, and regulatory changes.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for external regulatory agencies as required.
  • Ensure that all compliance-related documentation is easily accessible and properly organized.
  • Incident Management:
  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues, incidents, and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address compliance-related concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Track and report on the status of compliance incidents and the effectiveness of resolution efforts.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and areas of concern.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and enhance overall compliance posture.
  • Stay proactively informed about industry trends and emerging risks to address potential compliance challenges.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on compliance-related issues and requirements.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including legal counsel and regulatory agencies, to address compliance matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare compliance or a related field, with a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and industry standards.
  • Proven experience in conducting audits, developing compliance programs, and delivering training.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to various audiences.
  • Proficiency in using compliance management software and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment.
