Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Senior Internal Audit Data Analyst to join our team in Florida, USA. As a key member of our internal audit team, you'll be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Internal Audit Data Analyst, you'll be responsible for:
- Collaborating with internal audit staff to identify and execute on scientific and automation opportunities within internal audit
- Working in a fast-paced environment and staying up-to-date with new risks and challenges while learning new tools and technologies
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to understand risks and business processes
- Creating, maintaining, and improving investigation answers to provide business insights that guide key decisions and uncover improvement opportunities
- Planning, performing, and recording data analysis methodologies to validate the sufficiency and effectiveness of business processes, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
- Conducting examinations concerning data questions and integrating those findings into a compelling story for business stakeholders
- Evaluating and maintaining the quality and accuracy of data being used by working closely with business and Data Warehouse teams
- Proactively monitoring risk to identify patterns that are sources of risk or potential issues, determining underlying drivers, and working with colleagues on next steps
- Reviewing data sets for completeness and accuracy by linking them to sources of truth
What You'll Need
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Data Management, or a related field with a scientific or quantitative emphasis
- Strong SQL skills with a working understanding of databases, ETL processes, and data visualization on unstructured or unclear data sets across different business functions
- Ability to develop production-level code
- Experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, Knime, OBIEE, Alteryx, etc.)
- Experience deciphering data, designing metrics, and analyzing results using exploratory as well as statistical procedures
- Related knowledge driving ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) work
- Experience presenting findings to colleagues across the organization, including senior management
- Excellent technical skills and a strong passion for data analysis and science, and should also be mentally curious in the pursuit of answers to the circumstances and logical results of business outcomes
- A self-starter mindset and ability to work within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Demonstrated analytical skills using SAS, R, or Python
- A basic understanding of statistical methods like regression, predictive modeling, estimation, time series analysis, and clustering and apply those to answer business needs (fraud analysis and anomaly detection)
- Ability to manage dirty data and uncertainty and both unstructured and structured data
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, data science, or internal audit with data analysis
