As a Billing Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless communication between patients, insurance companies, and our internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication Management: Serve as the first point of contact for call escalations, responding to patients, insurance companies, and their representatives via phone, email, and other internal communication platforms.
  • Relay messages from requesters to appropriate team members or departments, utilizing multiple software applications to ensure efficient communication.
  • Assist with coordinating incoming and outgoing billing requests, ensuring timely sorting, facilitating responses, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations, handling a minimum of 70 accounts per day.

Team Collaboration and Support:

  • Participate in regular team meetings via video or teleconference, fostering open communication and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Demonstrate competency in job-related skills, providing excellent customer service to diverse customer populations and departmental services.
  • Operate equipment and mechanical devices to maintain a functional, effective, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines relative to departmental operations, ensuring compliance and quality standards.

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred * 1-2 years of experience in customer service, billing, or a related field * Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple accounts and priorities * Proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in the healthcare industry or a related field * Certification in customer service, billing, or a related field * Bilingual or multilingual skills * Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management systems (PMS)
