Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking to employ experienced Teachers of English for Jumeirah College, Dubai. This appointment is for September 2025 start.The schoolJumeirah College is a GEMS Premium Secondary School which delivers the National Curriculum for England, offering the full range of GCSE and A level courses. English is the most popular subject at A Level in our College; with 18 groups across the entire A Level cohort, this is a fantastic opportunity to teach English to an advanced level. Behaviour in the College is ‘outstanding’ and the positive relationships between student and teacher, alongside the highly motivated students means that teachers can focus on teaching their subject.The successful candidate will work in an exceptional department. In 2024 the results were outstanding. In GCSE English Language/Literature over 98% of students achieved grades 9-4. At A Level English Language – 67% achieved A* - B out of which 11% were A*/A. English Literature – 85% achieved A* - B out of which 38% were A*/A.The opportunities which English present for students is central to the philosophy of the school. As a result, this appointment is crucial to the continued development of Jumeirah College.SkillsThe successful applicant will be required to have the following:

  • A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of the National Curriculum for England.
  • Experience of teaching English Language and Media Studies up to A Level is a preference.
  • We are seeking to appoint talented, highly motivated and well-qualified individuals.
  • You should have a proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching.
  • A mindset which understands all students have the potential for top performance, and the drive and passion to enable them to do so.
  • Experience which will enable a contribution to our enriched curriculum programme.
