Experienced Customer Service Representative – Logistics and Transportation Management

Key Responsibilities

As an Experienced Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to our clients, responding to their inquiries, and resolving their issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Utilizing your typing skills to efficiently process customer requests, while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Developing a deep understanding of our clients' needs, anticipating their requirements, and providing proactive solutions to meet their expectations
  • Collaborating with our logistics experts to resolve complex issues, and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry
  • Working with our Transportation Management System (TMS) and other software applications to manage customer data, track shipments, and optimize logistics operations
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as EDI communications, transportation management, and customer service best practices

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Prior experience in customer-facing roles, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry
  • Excellent typing skills, with a minimum of 80-95 WPM and high accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
  • Proficiency in the English language, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other software applications, such as SAP, McLeod Software, Keypoint, Aljex Software, or other top brokerage software
  • Experience with EDI communications, including EDI codes, tenders, protocols, and error troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications would be highly desirable:

  • Prior experience with IT-related software and systems
  • Multilingualism, with the ability to communicate with clients in multiple languages
  • Familiarity with logistics and transportation management concepts, including transportation modes, freight classification, and carrier management
  • Experience working with Fortune 500 companies, or similar high-profile clients
