ASC Accountant/Consultant
Position: ASC 606 Accountant / Consultant Join to apply for the ASC 606 Accountant / Consultant role at Aston Carter . Join a leading defense contractor as an ASC 606 Consultant, assisting with the manual review of contracts. This is a remote consulting opportunity lasting 3 to 6 months, with a focus on revenue recognition for approximately 40 contracts per month.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of government and commercial ASC 606 contracts.
- Prepare and review journal entries.
- Manage accruals for direct program work.
- Reconcile balance sheets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Deltek, providing recommendations to improve project reports.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in revenue recognition and technical accounting, with a strong background in ASC 606.
- Hands‑on experience in reading and reviewing government contracts and applying the disclosure model for revenue recognition.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Expertise in Deltek Costpoint with the ability to troubleshoot and propose solutions for project report issues.
- Experience in balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, and journal entries.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Blackline.
- Experience in a large government contractor service‑based business managing subcontractors with milestones, cost‑plus, and fixed‑price contracts.
Work Environment
This position offers a flexible, fully remote work environment from Monday to Friday. Ideal candidates will be based in Northern Virginia.
