[Remote] Software Engineer - Apigee Developer and Backend Developer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Ascension is a leading non-profit, faith-based national health system dedicated to transforming healthcare. They are seeking a Software Engineer with a focus on Platform Services to drive innovation in healthcare technology, particularly through the use of Google Apigee and backend development in Java.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on experience with Google Apigee, with proficiency in both Apigee Edge and Apigee X
- Strong programming skills in Java for backend service and tooling development
- Experience with Spring Boot and JUnit for building and testing Java applications
- Demonstrable experience with CI/CD principles and tools (Jenkins, Maven)
- Solid understanding of REST API design principles
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman
Skills

- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required
- 1 year of experience required
- 4 years of experience preferred
- 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud (GKE) or VMware Tanzu (PCF)
- Knowledge of asynchronous messaging platforms (e.g., Google PubSub)
- Front-end development experience with ReactJS is a plus
