Job Overview We are looking for a talented Medical Transcriptionist to interpret and accurately transcribe dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals on a timely basis, meeting Ackerman Cancer Center standards. This is a remote position, but candidates must be based in Jacksonville, FL, and have the capability to establish a suitable workspace at home. As a Medical Transcriptionist at Ackerman Cancer Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patient records are accurate, up-to-date, and readily available to our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately transcribe dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals using electronic records software Meet Ackerman Cancer Center standards for timeliness, accuracy, and quality of transcription Utilize strong organizational and self-management skills to prioritize tasks and manage workload Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare team members Stay up-to-date with current medical transcription guidelines and practices Maintain adequate hearing and vision acuity to process assigned work accurately and on a timely basis Provide an appropriate remote work-site that meets ACC standards for safety, confidentiality, electronic records storage and transmission, and daily/weekly production standards Essential Qualifications 2+ years of successful Medical Transcriptionist experience in a clinical medical setting Proficiency in computer/word processing concepts and use, along with good knowledge of grammar, punctuation, editing, and spelling concepts Strong organizational and self-management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of current medical transcription guidelines and practices Adequate hearing and vision acuity to process assigned work accurately and on a timely basis Preferred Qualifications Medical Transcription certification from an accredited transcription school or other professional certification organization 1+ years' experience in an oncology and/or radiation medical environment Proficiency with Mosaic EMR and Winscribe Speech Recognition Technology software Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Ackerman Cancer Center, we are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
