- Job Title: Biology Tutor
- Location: North Canton, OH (Main Campus) and Akron Campus, with some online hours available
- Start Date: Immediate openings available
- Compensation: Competitive salary ($14.81 - $19.99 per hour)
- Hours of Work: Up to 29 hours per week, with flexible scheduling (Mon-Thu 10:00am-5:00pm, Fri-Sat 10:00am-2:00pm, Sun-Thu 4:00pm-10:00pm)
Key Responsibilities
- Engage students and provide systematic and consistent learning support services in a positive and efficient manner
- Assist students with lecture or lab material in chemistry courses, study methods, and technology needed to complete course-related material
- Greet students and visitors, and provide general information about the college and its services
- Tutoring will take place primarily in-person at the main campus or Akron location, with online tutoring available based on hourly needs
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure students receive comprehensive support
- Utilize technology, including Microsoft Office Applications, to enhance tutoring sessions
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: In biology or a closely related field (e.g., medical degree, chiropractor, exercise physiology, or physical therapy)
- Preferred Coursework: Anatomy or physiology
- Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate to a diverse student population with ingenuity, creativity, and compassion
- Comfort with technology usage, including Microsoft Office Applications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
