Job Expectations

As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be expected to maintain courteous and professional contact with coworkers, customers, vendors, and the community at large. You will be responsible for supporting and following established safety, security, quality guidelines, as well as blithequark's policies, procedures, practices, and programs. Your role will require you to work effectively and safely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining 100% total customer focus. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining a neat appearance and good personal hygiene in compliance with blithequark image standards
• Preserving the safety of yourself, fellow employees, and all others in the work location by utilizing the blithequark Loss Prevention process
• Ensuring food safety hygiene in accordance with county regulations is followed to include proper sanitation, food handling, preparation, storage, and disposal procedures
• Following federal law and company standards on carding customers for all age-restricted products sold at the stations
• Working professionally with vendors and contractors
• Regular and punctual attendance is expected

Essential Functions

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, being courteous, and always greeting and thanking all customers while making eye contact. You will conduct all point-of-sale activities accurately and safely while adhering to blithequark guidelines and procedures. Some of your essential functions will include:

• Conducting retail and fuel sales transactions completed through multiple forms of payment
• Maintaining a cash drawer to be at or below the maximum level and securing all funds in a safe
• Performing cashier reconciliation at each end of the shift to ensure accurate management of sales
• Preparing food and hot beverage products and effectively managing ExtraMile and/or KKC foodservice and beverages
• Actively promoting store specials and other marketing programs
• Cross-checking the price of delivered goods for accuracy and distributing them in an orderly manner throughout the store

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must be sufficiently proficient in English to understand blithequark policies, safety training, and job instructions, and to effectively communicate with customers and/or coworkers on work-related matters. You must be available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays. Some of the key requirements and qualifications for this role include:

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and exercise exceptional judgment
• Ability to work both independently and in team settings
• Mandatory possession of required up-to-date food handling certificates, as required by law (in specific locations only)
• Cooking/Restaurant experience preferred

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel

Travel is rare and limited to required training and coverage for nearby stations.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include:

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time on hard and uneven surfaces
• Ability to bend, lift, push, and move product using proper lifting techniques
• Following the team-lift concept if objects are too heavy or awkward and if over 25 pounds
• Krispy Krunchy Chicken procedures require constant standing, bending, and reaching with a moderate amount of manual dexterity
• Working safely with equipment that can create and hold very high temperatures while always using appropriate personal protective equipment
• Periodic exposure to all outdoor conditions during daylight hours
• Moderate exposure to walk-in coolers and freezers at 34 F or lower
• Frequent handwashing and attention to personal cleanliness standards

Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years of age or older to work in California and Oregon locations. You must be at least 21 years of age or older to work in Washington locations, on the Graveyard shift from 10pm to 6am, or in Management positions.

The compensation range for this role is $18.00 - $19.00.
