Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and assisting with various tasks in our pharmacy department. As a key member of our team, you will be expected to model and convey a positive and great client experience, ensuring that every customer interaction is welcoming, friendly, and professional. You will work closely with our pharmacists, staff, and other colleagues to deliver high-quality services, resolve customer issues, and promote our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Registers sales on assigned sales register, provides customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and professional checkout service
  • Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to acquire patient and medication information and process prescriptions
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering help with products and services, resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Models and offers customer service best practices with all colleagues to deliver a unique and excellent customer experience, including relational habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and blithequark service values (e.g., offering assistance proactively, recognizing needs, overhauling until satisfied, etc.)
  • Performs tasks as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and medication data, ensuring data is placed accurately, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring medication, verifying medication is correct, and checking for potential interactions
  • Reports, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to blithequark policies and procedures related to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program
  • Handles calls that don't require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
  • Processes (edits and resubmits) manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other administrative duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
  • Expected to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment
  • Prefer previous work experience with blithequark
  • Prefer good numerical skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
  • Prefer good computer skills
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control
  • Prefer PTCB certification
