Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative, your role will involve:

  • Answering incoming calls from patients and caregivers with compassion and professionalism, providing timely and accurate information to address their concerns and needs.
  • Assisting with enrollment, program applications, and setup in applicable systems, ensuring seamless transitions and minimizing delays.
  • Retrieving information to assist caregivers with payroll-related inquiries, providing clear and concise explanations to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Utilizing de-escalation techniques to support upset or frustrated callers, maintaining a calm and empathetic demeanor in emotionally charged situations.
  • Offering guidance and directions to caregivers and patients to resolve issues, providing expert advice and support to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Documenting information and outcomes as necessary, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least one year of customer service experience, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support, with the ability to offer advice and guidance to caregivers and patients.
  • The ability to offer empathy, patience, and a friendly demeanor at all times, maintaining a positive and supportive attitude in challenging situations.
  • The ability to handle sensitive calls and de-escalate emotionally charged situations, remaining calm and composed under pressure.
  • Great active listening skills, with the ability to understand and address the needs and concerns of patients and caregivers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately document information and outcomes.
  • The ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple calls simultaneously.
  • A quality-focused mindset, with a desire to achieve first call resolution and deliver exceptional service to every customer.

Nice-to-Haves

While not essential, the following experience and skills would be beneficial in this role:

  • Experience in a healthcare-related customer service role, with a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of healthcare services.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid programs, including the rules and regulations governing self-directed care.
