Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative in our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service to patients receiving life-saving specialty medication treatment. You will be responsible for the coordination and handling of new prescription and reorder requests, which includes verifying and renewing benefits, assisting patients with deciphering and entering new or reorder medications into our pharmacy data system, collecting and processing copay sums, obtaining approvals, and collaborating with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and process orders with records of sales or clinical issues.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide phone support to patients receiving life-saving specialty medication treatment

  • Coordinate and handle new prescription and reorder requests, including verifying and renewing benefits
  • Assist patients with deciphering and entering new or reorder medications into our pharmacy data system
  • Collect and process copay sums
  • Obtain approvals from insurance companies and healthcare providers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and process orders with records of sales or clinical issues
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to ensure timely and effective delivery of specialty medications
  • Work effectively in a high-speed environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple requests simultaneously

Essential Qualifications

* Active IL Pharmacy Technician License or willingness to apply for an IL Pharmacy Technician License

  • One year of experience in a customer service role, handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs via telephone
  • One year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Windows, Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications
  • One year of PC keyboarding experience, skills, and fitness

Preferred Qualifications

* Healthcare work experience and knowledge of benefits, insurance, medications, and clinical terminology

  • Experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and regulations

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple requests and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain high levels of quality and productivity
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and results
