The Customer Service and Sales Representative role at blithequark is a critical position that requires a unique blend of sales, customer service, and product knowledge skills. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, friendly, and knowledgeable service to customers, assessing their needs and providing expert assistance and recommendations
  • Learn about products using our tools and resources, staying up-to-date on the latest developments and trends in our industry
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close sales with customers, working to meet and exceed sales targets and goals
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring that they are clean, shop-able, and safe for customers and colleagues
  • Work cooperatively with Department Supervisors and other associates to achieve sales and customer service objectives
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., sales, marketing, customer service) an asset
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing sales or service role, preferably in a retail environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management
  • Strong product knowledge and ability to learn about new products and services, with a focus on our specific store departments (e.g., Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, Tool Rental)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales and customer service targets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a sales or service role, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and goals
  • Knowledge of our industry and products, with a focus on our specific store departments
  • Experience working with customers to assess their needs and provide expert recommendations and solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box
