Job Summary

We are seeking an Experienced Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist to join our team in a remote work environment. As a key member of our Customer Support team, you will provide support to patients, referral sources, and employees by performing tasks related to patient care and third-party reimbursement. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service to patients, referral sources, and employees through phone, email, and other communication channels

  • Process new orders, respond to questions, resolve issues, and forward to appropriate personnel in a timely manner to ensure patient, referral, and employee satisfaction
  • Collect co-pays and deductible amounts, conduct insurance verification and eligibility for services/products, and obtain authorization and qualification documentation
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
  • Maintain accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry
  • Manage all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, inputting data into IMBS and eIntake, printing tickets, assembling charts, and processing paperwork
  • Prepare complete and accurate files for the Billing Department
  • Process work orders to field locations and coordinate timely fulfillment of products and services ordered
  • Provide product/service information and education by answering questions and offering assistance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED equivalent required

  • One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in the medical field and administrative record management
  • Strong customer service background
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Medical terminology
  • Multi-tasking and attention to detail
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
  • Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees, and patients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work extensively with eIntake proprietary system
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to provide exceptional service to patients, referral sources, and employees
