Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Transcriptionist and Data Records Clerk to join our growing healthcare team at blithequark's Cherry Creek facility. As a crucial part of our medical transcription department, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing radiology reports and other medical documents from audio recordings, chart/doctor entry, and entering the patient report into our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Your role will contribute significantly to ensuring the precision and clarity of medical records, thereby supporting effective patient care and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

As a Medical Transcriptionist and Data Records Clerk at blithequark, you will be responsible for:

  • Transcribing radiology reports from dictated recordings and canned reports, including mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI, image-guided procedures, and other imaging modalities.
  • Updating breast density, follow-up dates, surgical follow-ups, and physical charts for each patient.
  • Reviewing and editing drafts for clarity, accuracy, and grammar, adhering to departmental and industry standards.
  • Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify dictation and ensure completeness of reports.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and complying with all legal and ethical standards related to patient information and medical records.
  • Prioritizing and managing workload effectively to meet transcription deadlines and turnaround times.
  • Staying updated with medical terminology, MQSA, and advancements in radiology to enhance transcription accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist, specifically in radiology, with a strong understanding of radiology terminology and procedures.
  • Proficiency in transcribing medical dictation using transcription software and word processing tools.
  • Excellent typing skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in transcribing complex medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of medical ethics, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Certification or diploma in medical transcription or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems is necessary.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and understand the importance of accuracy when creating and delivering files to the referring physician and the patient.
