Experienced Insurance Customer Service Representative – Work from Home Opportunity at blithequark

As an Experienced Insurance Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for handling property and casualty-related customer service and/or billing inquiries and problems via the telephone. You will provide customers with plan coverage information, quotes, policy changes, and policy change impacts to premium, all while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for our members.

Responsibilities

As an Experienced Insurance Customer Service Representative, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Contacting policyholders from our existing book of business through inbound/outbound telephone calls, direct mail, and email to review policies prior to renewal
  • Reviewing and updating policies to enhance retention and better meet the needs of the consumer
  • Counseling policyholders concerning appropriate coverage, policy limits, payment options, and state laws that will best meet their needs for sufficient protection against risks covered by property and casualty insurance
  • Making appropriate recommendations and/or changes to the policy and gaining policyholder acceptance to process the changes
  • Receiving and responding to calls and emails received by the insurance service center, documenting all activity in EPIC
  • Utilizing knowledge of the insurance industry and club insurance agency policies and procedures to provide efficient and professional customer service
  • Providing quotes on endorsements as requested
  • Identifying opportunities to apply discounts, processing insurance verification forms for insured, and acting as liaison for information exchange between customer and insurance companies
  • Processing changes to policies within EPIC and submitting changes to specific companies, following up with the company to ensure change requests have been processed in a timely manner
  • Reviewing policy information and referencing company-specific claims procedures to assist insured in filing claims
  • Mailing insured documentation to be signed and returned as necessary, following up to ensure documentation has been returned in a timely manner from member/customer
  • Recognizing cross-sell opportunities (membership and insurance) and obtaining quote information

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of increasingly complex customer service experience in an insurance environment
  • A Property and Casualty insurance license, with a Membership license preferred and/or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and insurance companies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex insurance policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in EPIC and other relevant software systems
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to meeting the needs of our members
