Social Media Assistant (Part-Time)

Protect Life Michigan is seeking a part-time, mission-aligned Social Media Assistant to support the Social Media Manager in creating, curating, and publishing content across our social media platforms. This role is ideal for someone passionate about the pro-life cause, with a flair for creativity, communication, and digital engagement.The assistant will help execute PLM’s social media strategy by supporting daily content creation, engagement, and platform management. This individual will play a key role in expanding our reach, ensuring brand consistency, and fostering online dialogue that inspires and informs.What you'll doSocial Media Content & SchedulingAssist in drafting, designing, and scheduling social media content (graphics, captions, videos)Help maintain the monthly social media calendarSupport the creation and formatting of Instagram Stories, Reels, and TikToksAssist in assigning and collecting internal content (e.g., video clips, quotes, team takeovers)Platform Management & EngagementMonitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions; respond as neededHelp flag or escalate critical comments or PR concernsResearch pro-life news, current events, and digital trends to help identify relevant contentTrack basic engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments, reach) for reportingMedia SupportAttend occasional PLM events to capture content for social media (photos, videos, behind-the-scenes)Help organize and archive social media assets (photos, footage, graphic templates)Support the Social Media Manager and Director of Marketing with campaign content and seasonal initiativesQualificationsAgreement with and passion for the mission of Protect Life MichiganProficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X/Twitter, LinkedIn)Basic familiarity with Canva or willingness to learn; bonus if familiar with Adobe Creative SuiteStrong written communication skills with a sharp eye for spelling, grammar, and toneOrganized, detail-oriented, and responsiveAbility to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage time flexiblyExperience with content creation (e.g., personal or organizational social media, school projects, campaigns) is a plusLocation: Remote but must reside in Michigan, with the capacity to travel for work on occasion.Salary/BenefitsSalary and benefits are determined by the needs of the individual, commensurate with education and experience. The salary and all expenses associated with this position will be fundraised by the candidate. Protect Life Michigan will provide training and coaching in order to help the candidate reach full support and will pay the candidate while they raise support. We have an excellent track record of helping job candidates reach full support: 85% of our candidates have reached full support within 2-3 months.You will complete support raising prep work over the first 1-3 weeks, then you will attend a support raising bootcamp around week 4 of your employment with PLM. Subsequently, you will spend the next 6-13 weeks support raising before beginning your job duties.
