What We Look for in Our Teachers
While formal teaching credentials are not required, we do have several requirements that our teachers must fulfill to become and remain a part of our community:
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must reside full-time in any of the 50 United States, Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and the United Kingdom
- You must have the ability to receive PayPal payments
- You must have one or more expertise or passion that you will base your classes around
- You must meet our community standards, including prompt, professional communication with families and the Outschool team
- You must observe our class content policy, including the policy that Outschool classes are secular and objective
- You must have a reliable and fast Internet connection (over 3Mbps upload and download)
- You must have the technical know-how to effectively run online classes
- You must have a good command of written and spoken English
- You must verify your identity and pass a criminal background check
About the Role
As a Remote Middle School Educator, you'll be responsible for:
- Creating and delivering engaging online classes for middle school students
- Developing and implementing lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities
- Building strong relationships with students and their families through prompt and professional communication
- Staying up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in education
- Participating in ongoing professional development to improve teaching skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications
* A strong passion for education and working with middle school students
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, subject area)
- Experience in teaching or tutoring middle school students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in online learning platforms and tools

* Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience in online teaching or tutoring
- Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation

- Strong leadership and management skills
