Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Scholar - Teaching Fellow to join our team and contribute to the teaching and research missions of the Department of Integrative Anatomical Sciences. The successful candidate will have a strong background in anatomy, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to research in evolutionary and functional morphology. The Postdoctoral Scholar - Teaching Fellow will be responsible for teaching two courses: a medical school gross anatomy course with full cadaver dissection, and an undergraduate-level anatomy course with cadaver prosections. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to engage in research collaborations with our faculty members and to develop their own research program.

Key Responsibilities

* Teach two courses: a medical school gross anatomy course with full cadaver dissection, and an undergraduate-level anatomy course with cadaver prosections

  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods and materials to enhance student learning
  • Collaborate with faculty members to develop and implement research projects
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
  • Engage in research activities, including data collection, analysis, and publication
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
  • Develop and maintain a research program, including securing funding and collaborating with colleagues

Essential Qualifications

* Ph.D. degree in Anatomy or a related field (ABD applicants will also be considered)

  • Prior experience teaching cadaveric human gross anatomy
  • Research interests in some area of the anatomical sciences, ideally evolutionary morphology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with computer-based technologies and educational software

  • Familiarity with anatomy education and research methods
  • Experience with grant writing and securing funding
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience with teaching and mentoring students
