Job Summary

We're seeking an exceptional Math Instructor / Tutor to join our team at Mathnasium of Newark, CA. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and tutoring services to students, working collaboratively with parents, and contributing to the maintenance of a clean and professional learning environment. This is a part-time role with flexible hours, offering a unique career path focused on helping the community and working with students.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional instruction and tutoring services to students, tailoring your approach to meet the needs of each individual

• Participate in positive interactions with parents, establishing a high level of confidence and program value
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes, including our proprietary Mathnasium Method
• Teach in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery, using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices
• Assess students' progress throughout instructional sessions, working collaboratively with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students
• Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework
• Support the maintenance of a clean and professional learning environment
• Assist with non-teaching/instructional tasks as needed

Essential Qualifications

* A passion for math and working with students

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
• Ability to balance various ongoing tasks and prioritize responsibilities
• Willingness to learn and be trained in the Mathnasium Method and proprietary systems

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with children in an educational setting

• Familiarity with digital educational materials and processes
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
