Job title: Copy Editor Company: Steer Job description: Fourth Economy is looking for a copy editor and proofreader to join our team and work with a team of consultants to help ensure our writing is clear, concise, readable, and free of grammatical errors. We need someone who can:

• Edit and proofread complex documents or sections of documents prepared by our consultants, including reports and deliverables for clients, website copy, and proposals
• Critically analyze our writing and propose recommendations to convey complex ideas in a clear and comprehensible manner
• Ensure consistency of tone and language in documents with multiple contributors
• Provide feedback on the clarity of documents for the proposed audience
• Provide quality assurance and quality control review of contract deliverables.
• Work under tight deadlines

Location and Compensation We are location agnostic when it comes to this hire. We work east coast hours but have employees in various locations and time zones across the US. We are especially interested in candidates residing in or interested in working from the New England States, Mid-Atlantic, Virginia, Georgia, and the Midwest. This is an on-demand hourly freelance position. Compensation is between $50-$60/hour. Be advised that this is a benchmark salary of good faith for the States of New York and California. All compensation, regardless of location, may be subject to change as skills, abilities, internal equity, and geographic location are considered. Fourth Economy reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional compensation. Requirements

The ideal candidate has the following:

• A passion for grammar, words, and the order of words
• At least 3-4 years of relevant experience
• A positive attitude and clear communication style, especially for remote and digital work
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, history, or a related field
