Key Responsibilities and Duties

As a Plant and Equipment Operator, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Operating heavy equipment, such as dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and other types of machinery used for paving, moving, grading, and compacting earth, sand, gravel, stone, and/or asphalt materials
• Demonstrating a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies and protocols in all work environments and areas
• Practicing and promoting safety by assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Exercising and encouraging core values, including developing self and coaching others through inspiration and empowerment
• Ensuring that safety, compliance, and environmental requirements are followed at all times
• Loading material into bins, into crushers, into trucks, or into plant
• Moving earth or other materials from one location to another
• Performing visual and safety inspections of equipment, maintaining appearance, proper air pressure in tires, proper fluid levels, and performing minor repairs as needed
• Keeping equipment clean and orderly, and completing paperwork as necessary
• Assisting with other duties as required and contributing to the overall success of the team

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications and requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and write
• Excellent driving skills and a valid driver's license
• Demonstrated commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies and protocols
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with others
