About the Role

As a Member Service Representative, you will be working from the comfort of your own home, utilizing your exceptional customer service skills to address a wide range of inquiries from members and providers. Your primary focus will be on delivering personalized support, ensuring that every caller receives an outstanding experience. You will be handling inbound calls, responding to questions about benefits, eligibility, services, prior authorization requirements, and more. Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answering inbound member and provider calls, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Providing accurate and detailed information about benefits, eligibility, services, and programs to members and providers
  • Utilizing high-speed internet connectivity via an ethernet cable (Wi-Fi is not permitted) to ensure secure and reliable service
  • Participating in comprehensive training sessions, which will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in this role
  • Meeting performance standards, attendance requirements, and call quality goals, while consistently demonstrating a commitment to excellence
  • Collaborating with internal teams to resolve complex issues and improve overall customer satisfaction

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a unique blend of skills, experience, and personal qualities. The following are essential requirements:

  • Must live within 50 miles of Linthicum, MD, and be able to commute to the office when necessary (in the event of prolonged technical issues)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members and providers, both orally and in written form
  • Strong customer service skills, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional support in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work from home, with a dedicated workspace that meets our technical requirements (high-speed internet connectivity via an ethernet cable)
  • Self-motivated and disciplined, with a strong ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Experience working in a remote call center setting, with a proven ability to thrive in a virtual environment
  • Familiarity with Medicaid and Medicare, with a strong understanding of the healthcare industry
  • Previous experience in customer service, with a focus on delivering exceptional support to diverse customer groups
