Position Overview

As a Customer Service Representative at U-Haul, you will be the face of our company, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support throughout their moving journey. You will work as part of a supportive team, utilizing up-to-date technology to dispatch and return equipment, inspect and maintain equipment, and assist customers with their queries and concerns. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with U-Haul products and services, both inside and outside of our centers
  • Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory
  • Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers, and clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels
  • Answer questions and educate customers regarding our products and services
  • Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental
  • Install hitches and trailer wiring, and fill propane (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment)
  • Drive a forklift (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment)
  • Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University

Essential Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service or a related field
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with technology
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and environments

Skills and Competencies

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations. You should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on providing exceptional customer service and support. Additionally, you should be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and environments, and be able to lift and move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
