Job Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, your key responsibilities will include:

• Patient Enrollment and Data Management: Utilize Walgreens' solution information passage methods and rules to process new patient enrollment, entering information into the relevant system while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Medication Management: Handle patient medication demands, enter refill orders, and investigate missing medication data, all while deciphering clinical shortenings (SIG codes).
• Inventory Management: Run automated hardware, sort medications, progress stock through various workflow stages with an emphasis on quality control, and count and fill solutions.
• Quality Control and Assurance: Clean and maintain equipment, maintain an efficient workspace, and settle information passage-related special cases.
• Customer Service: Provide assistance to pharmacists, both in-office and at other locations, and identify and convey issues to senior-level staff as necessary.
• Professional Development: Acquire a dynamic pharmacy technician license or certification within the initial 90 days and maintain an active license or certification.

Essential Capabilities

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in using a computer, mouse, and keyboard, as well as basic software applications.
• Web Search Skills: Ability to open a web browser, navigate online resources, and complete online forms.
• Keyboarding Skills: Transitional-level keyboarding skills, with a minimum of 25 WPM, typing by memory, and organizing records.
• Physical Abilities: Willingness to perform tasks that involve pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting, as well as carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Adaptability: Ability to work an adaptable shift schedule.

Preferred Capabilities

While not required, the following skills and experiences will be beneficial:

• Pharmacy Technician Experience: At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail, fulfillment, or call center environment.
• Customer Service Experience: Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality and efficiency guidelines for services.
• Certification/Enrollment: Required certification or enrollment as a Pharmacy Technician by the state Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.
• Advanced Keyboarding Skills: Halfway to advanced-level keyboarding skills, with a minimum of 35 WPM, typing by memory, and organizing reports.
