Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines, ensuring high-quality data ingestion, processing, and delivery to various stakeholders. Collaborate with data scientists and product owners to develop and deploy data-driven solutions, driving business growth and innovation. Develop and maintain automation frameworks to monitor data pipeline quality, performance, and security. Implement best practices around system integration, security, performance, and data management. Enable business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions by providing timely and accurate data insights. Collaborate with internal clients, including data science and product teams, to drive solutioning and proof-of-concept conversations. Develop and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, data architecture, and data governance. Support large-scale experimentation done by data scientists, ensuring seamless data integration and delivery. Research and develop new methodologies and techniques to improve data engineering capabilities. Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical fields. 2+ years of experience in Data Lake Framework, Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics tools. 2+ years of experience in SQL development and performance tuning, with proficiency in programming languages like Python, PySpark, Scala, etc. 2+ years of experience in cloud data engineering, preferably with Azure. Familiarity with Azure cloud services, with Azure certification being a plus. Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines. Experience with data profiling and data quality tools like Apache Griffin, Deequ, and Great Expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MPP database technologies like Redshift, Neural Connection, or Snowflake. Experience with running and scaling applications on cloud infrastructure and containerized services like Kubernetes. Experience with version control systems like GitHub and CI/CD tools. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure AI tools. Familiarity with statistical/ML techniques and experience with building solutions in the retail or supply chain space. Understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data glossaries.

Skills and Competencies

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and demonstrate trust in communications with senior-level management. Proven history of driving and mentoring data teams. Strong change manager, comfortable with change, particularly that which emerges through organizational growth. Ability to understand and translate business requirements into data and technical requirements. High level of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing tasks and priorities simultaneously. Positive and adaptable attitude, enabling acclimation to different needs in a constantly changing environment.
