Course Overview: NR561 - Addressing Global Health Disparities

This course is designed to explore global health inequities, examining strategies to address health disparities in selected populations. It delves into how globalization has altered disease patterns and control methods, emphasizing the role of the global nurse as a catalyst for positive change and improved health outcomes. As an Online Visiting Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of nurses by sharing your expertise and passion for global health.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspire students to achieve their academic goals by providing regular, meaningful feedback on their performance, development, and participation.
• Engage students in asynchronous threaded discussions at least 4 days per week, moderating participation, evaluating responses, and responding to questions or comments.
• Evaluate students' academic progress through quizzes, exams, and writing assignments, ensuring they grasp course content.
• Exhibit professionalism and care by creating a collaborative and respectful learning environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Hold a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) and a Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD).
• Have a minimum of 2 years of online teaching experience, preferably at the graduate level.
• Possess an active, unencumbered Compact RN nursing license.
• Hold an Illinois RN nursing license or be willing to obtain one at your own expense.
• Demonstrate subject matter expertise in global health disparities and the course content.
• Showcase excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse, non-traditional online environment.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Experience in curriculum development or course design.
• Familiarity with Chamberlain University's online platform and teaching tools.
• A record of scholarly work or publications in the field of nursing or global health.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $825/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on your education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law.
