As a Postperson with Driving Skills, you'll be an integral part of our team, delivering mail and packages to homes and businesses across the area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver mail and packages to homes and businesses in the Linlithgow area, ensuring timely and efficient service
  • Operate a Royal Mail vehicle, adhering to safety standards and regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving issues
  • Work independently, using your initiative to overcome challenges and achieve targets
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Maintain accurate records and complete tasks as required
  • Work flexibly, including Sundays during peak times on rotation

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor
  • The ability to work independently, with a strong sense of self-motivation
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage your time effectively
  • A willingness to work outside in all weathers, walking for long periods and lifting mailbags as required
  • A strong sense of community and pride in your work

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not essential, the following qualifications and skills will be considered advantageous:

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, particularly in a delivery or logistics environment
  • Knowledge of Royal Mail procedures and systems
  • Basic IT skills, with the ability to use handheld scanning devices and other technology
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy mailbags
