Blithequark's Operations and Customer Center (OCC) is at the forefront of the aviation industry, serving as the operational hub for strategic and tactical decision-making. We're seeking highly motivated co-op students to join our team for a minimum of three alternating work terms (Fall 2024, Summer 2025, and Spring 2026). As a co-op student at Blithequark, you'll collaborate with aviation professionals, utilizing data to solve operational business challenges and drive success.

The OCC is the central nervous system of Blithequark's operations, responsible for ensuring seamless flight operations, managing disruptions, and providing top-notch customer support. Co-op Assignments

As a co-op student at Blithequark, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and contribute to the success of our operations. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Load Control Center: You'll be responsible for aircraft weight and balance, fuel distribution, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer and company specifications. You'll also work with the LCC's back office to create applications and efficiencies that reduce workload for the frontline team.
  • Fuel System: You'll develop strategies, tools, and sustainability policies for annual jet fuel consumption. You'll research and develop methods to determine safe and efficient fuel loads, improve aircraft routing, and enhance cargo forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

As a co-op student at Blithequark, you'll be expected to:

  • Collaborate with aviation professionals to solve operational business challenges
  • Utilize data to drive decision-making and improve operational efficiency
  • Develop and implement new processes and tools to enhance customer support
  • Work effectively in both group and individual settings
  • Prioritize safety and security for yourself and others

Requirements to Succeed

To be successful as a co-op student at Blithequark, you'll need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related 4-year degree program
  • Availability to work for three alternating semesters, Monday through Friday
  • Enrollment in an educational institution throughout the co-op program
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills and take on new challenges
  • Strong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Comfort working in both group and individual settings
  • Prioritization of safety and security for oneself and others
  • Embracing diverse people, thinking, and styles
  • A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • Familiarity or experience with SQL, SAS, Python, R, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of airline operations, scheduling, and planning
  • History of leadership roles in student and community organizations
  • Passion for a future career in the aviation industry and serving Blithequark's customers

Compensation and Benefits
