Job Overview

As a Customer Service Representative (Student Loan Advisor) at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch support to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to handle incoming calls, chats, and outbound calls to address customer inquiries, provide detailed information, process applications, and resolve any emerging issues with accuracy and efficiency. You will be expected to practice active listening, be empathetic, and communicate clearly with customers in a positive and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize standard technology such as telephones, email, and web browsers to interact with customers
  • Navigate to pre-scripted responses to provide basic general and claims-specific information
  • Follow established policies and standard operating procedures, including working within various systems, timekeeping, and documentation
  • Assist callers with filling out applications and submitting them electronically for processing
  • Complete basic call logs, documentation, and related call details for each phone inquiry
  • Work effectively within established key performance indicators and metrics

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently
  • Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute
  • Experience working with personal computers and the Windows operating system
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Excel and Word
  • Excellent command of the English language and effective use of grammar skills
  • Great customer service skills, with the ability to personalize calls, be competent with information and assistance, and be initiative-taking in offering solutions

Preferred Skills

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized while completing simultaneous tasks
  • Knowledge of contact center technology
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of calls

Work Schedule and Benefits

The schedule for this role is as follows:

  • Monday: 11:45am-8:15pm
  • Tuesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
  • Wednesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
  • Thursday: 8:45am-5:15pm
  • Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm
