Job Summary
As a Part-time Lead Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in leading complex innovation drives, developing standards and best practices for software engineering, and collaborating with key stakeholders to drive business objectives. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and debugging large-scale software solutions, as well as mentoring junior team members and contributing to the growth of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex innovation drives, including company-wide initiatives with broad impact
- Develop and implement standards and best practices for software engineering, ensuring alignment with industry trends and company goals
- Design, code, test, debug, and document software solutions for large-scale projects and initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical specialists, senior leadership, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and drive business objectives
- Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet business requirements and technical standards
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in computer programming, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 4+ years of experience in web design and development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- 4+ years of experience with JavaScript development, including React JS and Revival
- 2+ years of experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and 2.1
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns, testing, and debugging
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based technologies, including AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban
- Experience with DevOps tools, including Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
