Our Omnicare, closed-door pharmacy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our Front End department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and support our team of pharmacy technicians, assist with data entry, customer service, and processing support tasks, and contribute to the delivery of best-in-class customer support to our long-term care, assisted living, and chronic care customers.

Day in the Life of a Lead Pharmacy Technician

As a Lead Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the front-end pharmacy technician team and assisting when the pharmacy is busy with data entry, customer service, and processing support tasks. Your day will be filled with a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including:

  • Collaborating with senior technicians to coordinate daily production of assigned areas, including data entry, customer service, and automation
  • Troubleshooting and assisting with front-end processes and workflow issues to identify solutions
  • Partnering with pharmacy leaders on team training plans and collaborating with field training teams as needed
  • Assisting in orientation, training, and education programs for all controlled substances in accordance with policies, procedures, state, and federal laws
  • Providing exceptional customer service and support to our customers, including responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Working alongside the pharmacist to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the dispensing of medications
  • Utilizing technology and automation to streamline processes and improve productivity
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments and changes in regulations and laws affecting pharmacy practice

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, or as required by state law
  • One (1) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Prior experience in the long-term care industry
  • PTCB National Certification

Education

A verifiable High School Diploma or GED is required for this role.

Expected Salary and Location

The expected salary for this role is between $18.50 and $34.60 per hour, depending on experience and location. This role is remote, and you will have the opportunity to work from home and contribute to the success of our team.
