Job Overview

The Attractions Mechanic is a critical role that ensures the smooth operation of our theme parks and attractions. As a skilled mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on our mechanical systems and equipment. This is a field service position that requires working in a fast-paced environment, often in elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World property.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ride and show mechanical assets or equipment
• Respond promptly to trouble tickets at a park or attraction
• Perform daily checks, startup or shutdown sequencing of a ride
• Project team members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A valid Florida Driver's License
• Experience with practices including millwright mechanical work
• Practical experience with repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
• Experience working on but not limited to gearbox assemblies, bearing replacement, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, restraint systems, brake and wheel assemblies
• Able to interpret schematics and prints
• Use diagrams to verify dimensions, materials, parts, and specifications
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Previous experience working in a theme park or entertainment environment
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
