Key Responsibilities

• Foster positive relationships between caregivers and individuals served, promoting a culture of trust, respect, and empathy.
• Ensure customer safety and maintain a safe environment, adhering to our high standards of care and support.
• Remind and assist clients with self-administration of medications (with proper training), and provide support with daily living tasks.
• Encourage self-help activities, promoting independence and confidence in our clients.
• Document services provided, maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Perform home management functions, such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning, to create a comfortable and welcoming living environment.
• Plan meals, shop for groceries, prepare and serve food/meals, and clean up, promoting healthy eating habits and mealtime routines.
• Accompany clients to scheduled appointments and transport them to community activities, providing support and companionship.
• Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing needs.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance
• Clean, reliable vehicle
• Clear criminal history record
• Social Security Card or Birth Certificate
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Open and flexible availability, including willingness to work varied shifts and schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional caregiving or similar experience
• Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to caregiving
