Position Overview

The Service Technician will undergo an intensive Electric Vehicle (EV) service training program designed to equip you with the skills necessary for a successful career with Tesla. The program combines in-class theory, hands-on labs, and self-guided learning to foster technical skills and certifications. You will also develop essential soft skills and participate in team-based repair practices. Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and comprehend all Tesla vehicle products and technologies
  • Participate in group-based activities, including lab and lecture sessions
  • Follow safety protocols consistently and maintain a safe working environment
  • Meet weekly educational schedule goals and maintain consistent and efficient communication with instructors
  • Participate in scheduled interview training and soft skills meetings
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities, organize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Complete a written general auto test with a focus on Tesla vehicles
  • Maintain a 100% attendance rate throughout the 16-week program

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, and post-secondary automotive training (or equivalent military service experience) satisfactory to Tesla
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to participate in and pass all 16-week instructional courses with a 85% or higher GPA
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurable
  • Ability to report to a training location or local service center as required
  • Willingness to relocate upon successful completion of the program
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Basic computer skills, including navigating internet browsers and using standard applications like Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the automotive industry, particularly with electric vehicles
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
