Veterinary Technician Interventional Radiology
VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is expanding its Interventional Radiology/ Internal Medicine Patient Care Team and seeking a passionate Certified Veterinary Technician! Compensation: $23 - $ 34 / hour The starting range for technicians is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field. Schedule: This is a full-time position, typically 4 x 10 hour shifts. Why Join Us? VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is 1 of 7 hospitals in the USA to have an integrated operating room (Storz OR1), which allows multiple imaging modalities (endoscopy, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound) to be displayed on multiple monitors simultaneously. Snapshot of Our Internal Medicine and Interventional Radiology Team: VCA Arboretum View's IM/IR Technicians better understand body systems and the disease process, learn advanced diagnostic testing, provide excellent patient care, and treat patients with cutting-edge techniques. With the mentorship of our Internist and Specialists, our Internal Medicine Technicians have advanced training and a better understanding of Endocrinology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology/Urology, Neurology, Respiratory Diseases and Oncology.
- Collecting patient histories and performing physical exams.
- IVC placement
- Obtain laboratory samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, and fecal collection
- Gather and prepare tissue samples for culture and histopathologic diagnostic
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
- Assisting in diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy, rhinoscopy, and fluoroscopy
- Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services.
- Calculate drug dosages
- Anesthesia monitoring for diagnostic procedures and interventional radiology procedures
- Assisting with postoperative care of the patient (recovery)
- Maintain patient records
- Client education and communication
- Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately

Qualifications:
- Active Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) in good standing, or eligibility to obtain certification in the IL.
- Strong technical skills, including: Venipuncture and IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and familiarity with fluid therapy, sample collection, and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide compassionate client education and support
