As a Back Office Analyst, you will be responsible for providing a full range of accounting support, analyzing financial data, and reconciling accounts, all while working closely with our transaction processing staff and management personnel.

Job Responsibilities

In this dynamic and challenging role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Defining Sutherland's reputation by providing exceptional accounting support and ensuring accuracy in financial reports and statements
  • Producing financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and working closely with transaction processing staff to ensure accuracy and attention to detail
  • Analyzing and reconciling income statement accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts, and identifying issues and making recommendations for improvement
  • Handling up-to-date information, including preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly schedules for management personnel, external auditors, and SEC reporting, as well as preparing monthly journal entries
  • Strengthening relationships with business units to develop division budgets and records in the financial system, and collaborating with the Manager, peers, and staff to develop a customer-centered work group
  • Being analytical and creative, executing mechanisms to measure customer satisfaction, and working with the Manager and staff to improve overall levels of customer service

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field from a four-year college or university, with 0-3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency with various software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as a working knowledge of financial systems
  • A good grasp of fundamental accounting concepts and the ability to apply that knowledge in a practical setting
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of generally accepted accounting principles, and the ability to analyze financial data and produce reports and statements that meet company standards
  • A strong customer service orientation, as demonstrated in previous relevant roles, and the ability to manage relationships with employees and staff within the organization
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, initiative, and a preference for working in a service-oriented environment where continuous improvement of business processes is expected
