As a Pharmacy Technician in our Anticoagulation Clinic, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and nurses in monitoring patients who take blood thinners, ensuring they receive the best possible care and management.
Job Highlights and Responsibilities
We offer a unique hybrid schedule that combines the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of in-office collaboration. Our hybrid schedule includes a 3-week rotation, with 2 weeks of remote work and 1 week of in-person work at our clinic located at 1808 W. Beltline Hwy, Madison. You will work Monday through Friday, with no nights, weekends, or holidays required. As a Pharmacy Technician in our Anticoagulation Clinic, your typical duties will include:
- Supporting our pharmacists and nurses by scheduling appointments, answering patient phone calls, triaging referrals, communicating with provider offices, and following up with patients overdue for lab tests
- Maintaining relevant reports, including accurately collecting and recording pertinent performance indicators
- Coordinating patient enrollment by processing referrals, contacting patients, and sending required written correspondence materials
- Participating in and/or leading initiatives to improve patient care within the organization
- Communicating effectively and appropriately both within and outside of the department to ensure safety across the continuum of care
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience
- At least one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- A valid Pharmacy Technician registration or certification in the state of work location (Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin)
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
- Experience working in an anticoagulation clinic or similar healthcare setting
- Knowledge of blood thinners and anticoagulation therapy
- Experience with electronic health records and pharmacy software systems
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
