Job Summary

We're looking for a compassionate and skilled Personal Care Assistant to join our Assisted Living team at Monument Health Custer. As a Personal Care Assistant, you'll work closely with our nursing team to provide high-quality care and support to our residents, helping them to maintain their independence and quality of life. Key Responsibilities

  • Provides general assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming needs according to care plan.
  • Delivers resident care in accordance with the resident care plan as determined by facility Nurse Manager and Physician Orders.
  • Assists and supervises residents with administration of medications per Physician Orders and follows proper protocols for administering medication.
  • Obtains resident vital signs and weights on a monthly basis or as ordered by physician.
  • Records observations and all pertinent information in the resident chart and the resident communication book.
  • Prepares and/or assists with meals, snacks, and beverages.
  • Completes variance reports according to policy.
  • Gives and receives report in a timely manner by utilizing resident communication book and MAR's.
  • Effectively and efficiently completes all assigned duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following essential qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies.
  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
  • Medication Assistant-Certified (MA-C) certification from an accredited university or accredited training professionals.
  • Ability to exert very heavy work, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Ability to work designated shift lengths, including night shifts or occasional irregular hours.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Previous experience in an assisted living or healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
