Job Overview and Key Responsibilities

As a Tele Account Development Manager, you'll be responsible for managing a dedicated portfolio of high-value existing Business and Corporate customers, driving growth, and ensuring customer retention. Your primary focus will be on developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to expand their use of American Express products and services, and delivering tailored solutions to meet their evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning (10-20% of time):
    • Effectively manage a dedicated portfolio of high-value existing Business and Corporate customers within your territory.
  • Relationship Management (10-20% of time):
    • Proactively reach out to customers to uncover opportunities and engage in growth or retention conversations.
    • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular interactions and tailored solutions.
  • Client Solution (20-30% of time):
    • Utilize consultative skills to maintain and develop existing customer relationships, driving charge volume growth through strategic onboarding of new vendors, expanding existing vendor relationships, and adding supplemental cards.
    • Stay up-to-date on American Express products, processes, and tools, including Underwriting, Line Increase, Customer Financials, Pricing, Contract, ONE.force, and C360.
  • Negotiate and Close (20-30% of time):
    • Partner closely with the Field Dedicated Portfolio Account Development team to facilitate face-to-face visits with telephone-managed customers as needed.
    • Collaborate with specialized sales teams to cross-sell products, such as AP Automation, and further entrench clients with the American Express suite of products and services.
  • Compliance (100% of time):
    • Ensure adherence to the American Express Code of Conduct, Sales Practices policies, standards, and procedures, upholding the highest standards in customer interactions and regulatory compliance.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Relationship Management:
    • Strong customer relationship building skills to motivate clients and drive business growth.
