Job Summary

As a Customer Support Representative at American Airlines, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our passengers via phone, email, and live chat. You will assist passengers with booking, rebooking, and canceling flights, as well as provide information regarding flight schedules, fares, and amenities. Your goal will be to resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently and effectively, while maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, and live chat, ensuring that passenger concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist passengers with booking, rebooking, and canceling flights, as well as provide information regarding flight schedules, fares, and amenities.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently and effectively, using strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless customer service delivery and maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
  • Stay updated on company policies, procedures, and products to provide accurate information to passengers and ensure compliance with airline regulations.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

Education

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or training is a plus.

Experience

  • Previous experience in customer service or a related field is preferred; experience in the airline industry is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with passengers and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset, with the ability to resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and navigating various software applications, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
