Introduction to the Department of Revenue

How This Position Supports the Department's Vision

In this role, you will play a critical part in helping Missouri taxpayers by answering their questions and resolving their business and individual tax issues through live chats, emails, and phone calls. Your responsibilities will be diverse and challenging, including resolving tax issues, assisting businesses in obtaining licenses, running tax compliance checks, issuing No Tax Due statements, and establishing individual and business payment plan agreements. You will be the face of our department, providing timely and accurate support to our customers, and ensuring that their experiences with us are positive and productive.

Duties Performed to Support the Department's Vision

As a Customer Service Representative, your duties will include:

  • Researching and resolving tax issues for both internal and external customers
  • Collecting delinquent taxes through the use of multiple collection tools
  • Interacting with customers via telephone, email, live chat, in person, and written correspondence
  • Analyzing customers' reasons for calling and recommending process improvements
  • Utilizing communication skills and multiple computer systems to multi-task and provide efficient support

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Possess a high school diploma or high school equivalency certification
  • Have six or more months of experience in clerical or general office support work
  • Be proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other software applications
