Job Overview

As an Aetna Account Manager, you will serve as a consultative partner to our clients, providing expert guidance and support to help them navigate the complexities of pharmaceutical benefit plans. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to drive business growth and retention
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement customized solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients
  • Analyzing complex issues, identifying root causes, and developing effective solutions to drive positive outcomes
  • Providing exceptional client service, ensuring timely and accurate responses to client inquiries and concerns
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to maintain a high level of business acumen and expertise

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of client accounts, developing and executing strategic plans to drive growth and retention
  • Conducting regular business reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction, identify opportunities for growth, and provide guidance on plan optimization
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and operations teams, to develop and implement targeted solutions that meet client needs
  • Analyzing client data, identifying trends and insights, and developing recommendations to drive business growth and improvement
  • Providing training and support to clients on pharmaceutical benefit plans, including plan design, implementation, and management

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, healthcare, or pharmacy
  • At least 3 years of experience in a client-facing role, preferably in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical benefit management (PBM) industry
  • Knowledge of intranet and extranet systems, CRM software, or settlement platforms (e.g., SalesForce, Peoplesafe, AS400)
  • Certification in a related field, such as pharmacy or healthcare management
