Job Summary

As a Math Tutor at Mathnasium, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students of all grade levels (1-12). You will work closely with our experienced Center Director and team to deliver our proprietary Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods, ensuring that each student receives a tailored learning experience that meets their unique needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore and learn math concepts
• Implement the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods, using a variety of instructional techniques to engage students and promote understanding
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs and goals
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and new technologies
• Collaborate with the Center Director and team to achieve center goals and objectives
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents/guardians as needed

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Math proficiency through Algebra 2 required; Pre-Calculus/Calculus preferred
• Experience tutoring or working with children in grades 1-12 preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in education or a related field
• Familiarity with the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

What We Offer

Competitive Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting pay of $14.00/hr during training (~4 weeks), with a raise to $15.00/hr after initial training, and potential for further increases with additional training
• Consistent, flexible schedule: 8-12 hours/week on average
